Purpose:
You will provide electrical design and drafting services to Worley and its customers.
Responsibilities:
- The ability to provide discipline team supervision by directing project execution activities and preparing discipline specific deliverables for one large or several smaller projects.
- The ability to work within a team environment with a minimum of supervision and to Client, Company and Industry standards
- Performs moderately to difficult drafting assignments requiring a working knowledge of established drafting techniques, standards, practices and software. Understands and applies company procedures as they pertain to the electrical discipline
- The proven ability to oversee the preparation of design and detail drawings from sketches, plans or other design / specification data
- Ability to take on responsibility for the design and drafting of HV and LV electrical installations
- Direct the work of junior designers and/or coordinate work sharing activities to ensure the drawings are in accordance with the client requirements and relevant project specifications
- Have the experience to participate in design review with various clients and to advise on technical design and drafting issues and compliance requirements as appropriate
- Ability to perform point to point reviews on complete electrical design packages
- Be able to demonstrate a proven track record of completing a given work scope within time and budget constraints
- Develop layouts, plans, sections, elevations, and details for facilities, equipment, etc. from reference drawings or catalogues and makes routine calculations
- Performs dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings. Records and files electrical discipline documents.
- Ability to travel to job sites to perform panel audits and walkdown raceway routing
- Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the project, etc.

- Ability to supervise and guide a team of designers, ensuring project execution activities are conducted efficiently and deliverables are met according to discipline-specific requirements.
- Project Execution:
- Skilled in working within a team environment with minimal supervision, ensuring compliance with Client, Company, and Industry standards.
- Drafting Expertise:
- Proficient in performing moderately to difficult drafting assignments, with knowledge of established drafting techniques, standards, practices, and software tools relevant to electrical disciplines.
- Design and Detail Preparation:
- Experience in overseeing the preparation of design and detailed drawings from sketches, plans, or design/specification data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Electrical Installations:
- Expertise in the design and drafting of High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical installations, ensuring all electrical systems are up to standard and meet project requirements.
- Team Coordination:
- Ability to direct and coordinate junior designers, ensuring collaborative efforts align with client requirements and project specifications.
- Client Interaction:
- Experience in participating in design reviews with clients, offering technical advice on design and drafting issues, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Electrical Design Reviews:
- Capable of conducting point-to-point reviews of complete electrical design packages to ensure technical integrity and adherence to project scope.
- Time and Budget Management:
- Proven track record of completing tasks within given timeframes and budget constraints, ensuring project milestones are achieved without compromising quality.
- Layout and Calculation:
- Ability to develop layouts, plans, sections, elevations, and detailed designs for facilities and equipment based on reference drawings or catalogues, and to perform routine dimensional calculations.
- Documentation:
- Responsible for maintaining and organizing electrical discipline documents, ensuring proper record-keeping and filing for future reference.
- Site Audits and Walkdowns:
- Capability to travel to job sites to perform panel audits and inspect raceway routing, ensuring field work aligns with design plans.
What you will bring
Technical and Industry Experience:
- Extensive experience in electrical design
- Experience with Smartplant Electrical (SPEL) and Smartplant Instrumentation (SPI), AutoCAD and MicroStation design software packages, AVEVA E3D is a plus
- Experience with the Smart Plant 3D, participate in 3D model reviews
- Specialization in the following: detailed drawings for lighting; small power and earthing systems; HV/LV single line diagrams; wiring and control schematic diagram; AC/DC distribution panels, process area electrical equipment layouts, substation and switchyard layouts, cable tray, above grade and underground cable layouts, ductbank sizing and layouts, preparation of installation details, grounding plans, lightning layouts
- Cable schedules, cable pulling calculations, cable tray sizing calculations, cable selection & sizing calculations,
- Lighting calculations (using software AGI32, etc.)
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
- A Degree 2 or 3 year technical diploma in with discipline specific training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in electrical design and drafting

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables in alignment with Worley’s established policies, procedures, and systems.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between Project Managers and engineering teams, ensuring effective communication and interpretation of project designs.
- Supervise and guide project personnel, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to project objectives.
- Manage multiple engineering and capital projects across all project phases, engaging with stakeholders such as operations, safety, environmental, maintenance, and finance teams to ensure compliance with the Capital Plan and Sustainability Group Procedures.
- Actively participate in and promote health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) standards, including risk assessments, incident reporting, and compliance initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and execution plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and sustainability targets.
- Oversee contractor selection, procurement strategies, and vendor partnerships to facilitate successful project delivery.
- Develop and present detailed project documentation, including Project Charters, Capital Expenditure Authorizations (CEA), and stakeholder updates.
- Drive business optimization and cost reduction initiatives while ensuring compliance with management of change (MOC) and risk assessment protocols.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams and contractors, ensuring engineering deliverables meet Worley’s standards of innovation and excellence.
