Siemens Mobility is currently operating and maintaining the Education City Tram network. The People Mover System (PMS) is the first low floor catenary-free tram system in the world. It uses a Hybrid Energy System (HES) which incorporates a combination of super-capacitors and batteries to power the tram between charging locations along the line. It is manually operated on line of sight rules and the system is being designed in compliance with BO Strab regulations and guidance. 11 km of track serves both the North and South Campuses of Education City and 19 trams of the Siemens Avenio range are in operation. Siemens Mobility is seeking to strengthen its Team of Tram Drivers professionals. To be successful in the role, you will have to be of a rigorous character, a fervent Team player with a sense of ownership.
Role Overview
Responsible for driving the tram vehicle along QEC PMS corridor in a safe and punctual way in compliance with the company’s safety and operations rules & regulations; Provides a high standard of customer service at all times.
What are my responsibilities?
- Driving Trams in accordance with the company’s rules & procedures and road traffic regulations
- Ensuring the safety of passengers, pedestrians and other road users
- Providing excellent customer service at all times
- Identifying and reporting incidents and anomalies (rolling stock and equipment) to the Operations Controllers (OMCC)
- Perfect knowledge of EC Tram Rolling Stock in order to conduct fault finding and rectification in compliance with operations & maintenance procedures
- Reporting to Line Supervisors and Operations Controllers and complying with all operational orders and directives given
- Communicating clearly and effectively with passengers and Operations Controllers
- Provides assistance during safety & quality audits.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- A good physical condition (Meets requirements of Fitness Class 1)
- 21 years or above
- 1.60m minimum height
- Minimum 10 years of successful school education
- Must have held a valid Qatar road driving license for at least 2 years (car, bus or truck)
- Good understanding of rail public transport operations process and Rules & Procedures
- Good analysis and reporting skills
- Ability to work under pressure while complying with rules & procedures
- Good command of spoken and written English language
- Ability to comply with rules & procedures

Training Expert

Siemens Mobility is seeking to strengthen its Team of Operations & Maintenance professionals.
Siemens requires a Training Expert who will be support the Training Manager in the development, planning, coordination, and delivery of all training for operations and maintenance staff and managing all training and assessment records and certification.
What are my responsibilities?
- Assist the Training Manager in maintaining and updating the O&M Training Management Plan & Competency Management Plan.
- Carry out Training Needs Identification and Analysis by working with Department Managers to identify the specific training needs of O&M staff to complete O&M activities to the required standard.
- Assist the Training Manger in maintaining the Training Matrix, ensuring that all required training, including training from 3rd party suppliers as identified by Department Managers, is included in the Matrix.
- Develop internal operations and maintenance training courses (including refresher training) for safety critical roles based on suppliers’ manuals, industry standards, regulatory requirements and the standards laid out in the Training Management Plan.
- Deliver O&M training courses, including refresher training.
- Invigilate training assessments, ensuring the integrity of the assessment process is maintained.
- Assist the Training Manager to evaluate training at Reaction, Immediate and Intermediate levels to establish the extent to which training meets business needs and improves performance and make recommendations for improvement based on evaluation results.
- Assist the Training Manager to establish annual refresher training requirements for O&M staff.
- Support the Training Manager during audits and investigations.
- Assist the Training Manager to ensure that training materials are updated to reflect changes to O&M plans, procedures, guidelines, forms etc.
- Manage and maintain training documentation, records and certificates and ensure that they are available for audit and when requested or as a result of an investigation.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Degree or diploma in education, human resources or equivalent would be an advantage
- At least 8+ years of experience on an operational railway
- At least 2+ years of experience conducting training activities on an operational railway
- Work experience abroad with multicultural teams
- Experience of working with and supporting multiple teams
- Experience in working for railway organisations
- Good command of spoken and written English language
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
- Good analysis skills
- Strong leadership ability
