Laboratory
Key Responsibilities:
- Sample Collection & Analysis:
- Collect and prepare biological, environmental, and product samples for microbiological analysis.
- Perform microbiological assays to identify, isolate, and enumerate microorganisms.
- Laboratory Testing:
- Conduct tests using various laboratory instruments and equipment, such as microscopes, autoclaves, and incubators.
- Prepare media and reagents for testing.
- Perform microbiological testing including culture methods, Gram staining, and PCR assays.
- Quality Control & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all test results, observations, and laboratory procedures.
- Follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure quality and consistency.
- Maintain proper lab hygiene and safety standards.
- Sterilization & Equipment Maintenance:
- Sterilize equipment and instruments as per lab standards.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained, calibrated, and operational.
- Research & Development Support:
- Assist in the development and validation of microbiological testing methods.
- Participate in research projects and trials as directed by senior microbiologists.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Follow proper safety protocols when handling biological materials and chemicals.
- Ensure all testing complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Previous experience in a microbiology lab setting is preferred. Familiarity with microbiological techniques, laboratory equipment, and aseptic practices.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in testing and analysis. Proficiency in laboratory software and data management. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of microbiological principles and lab practices. Knowledge of industry standards, such as ISO, GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and hazardous material handling.
