Assistant Professor of Digital Marketing

Ajman University College of Business Administration (CBA) has an opening for the position of Assistant Professor of Digital Marketing, starting in Spring or Spring 2024/2025. The selected candidate will have primary teaching and research interests in Digital Marketing, Social Media Marketing and/or Marketing Analytics and will be expected to teach in graduate and undergraduate programs. The selected candidate will also be expected to actively engage with the business community. A candidate at the full professor rank will be an outstanding scholar with experience and qualifications that reflect an international reputation for excellence in teaching, research and service as well as a demonstrable commitment to conducting multidisciplinary research related to Digital Marketing. The selected candidate will also be expected to actively engage with the business community. The College of Business Administration offers Bachelor, Master and Doctoral programs. The College is accredited by AACSB.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Doctorate in Digital Business/Marketing or a closely-related field obtained from a reputable university, preferably accredited by AACSB.
  • Knowledge of Project Management, Emerging Business Technologies or Digital Marketing is highly desirable. Expertise in Artificial Intelligence would be highly valued.
  • Excellent teaching record with at least two or more years of teaching experience gained at graduate and undergraduate levels in an internationally reputable university.
  • Demonstrable record of excellence in developing and teaching (but not limited to) Digital Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Business Intelligence and related courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Outstanding record of research and peer-reviewed publications in top-tier business/management journals, preferably indexed in Scopus, ABS or ABDC.
  • Record of collaborative and interdisciplinary research would be an advantage
  • Demonstrable record of supervising student projects and dissertations is preferred.
  • Excellent record of professional and community service is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, deliver and assess in a timely manner graduate and undergraduate courses in Digital Business Models and others as assigned.
  • Engage in innovative and technology-based approaches to teaching and learning
  • Actively seek out methods, procedures and resources to best achieve course and lesson objectives
  • Provide academic advising services to students
  • Conduct high quality research and publish research outcomes in reputable journals and conferences
  • Participate in committee and other service tasks at the department, college and/or university levels as assigned
  • Actively engage in promoting the growth and visibility of Ajman University
  • Provide consultancy and other industry-facing services to Ajman University partners and members of the business community
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

  • Doctorate in Digital Business/Marketing or a closely related field: The candidate should possess a Ph.D. from a reputable university, with a preference for those accredited by AACSB, showcasing advanced knowledge in Digital Marketing, Social Media Marketing, or Marketing Analytics.
  • Emerging Business Technologies: Familiarity with project management and emerging business technologies, especially those related to digital business and marketing, is highly desirable.

2. Teaching & Instructional Skills

  • Experience in Teaching at Undergraduate & Graduate Levels: A minimum of two years of experience teaching digital marketing, social media marketing, marketing analytics, business intelligence, or related subjects at internationally reputable universities.
  • Course Design and Delivery: Ability to design, deliver, and assess graduate and undergraduate courses effectively, ensuring that students meet the course and lesson objectives in a timely manner.
  • Innovative Teaching Methods: Proficiency in using technology-based approaches to teaching, such as online learning platforms, multimedia tools, and digital teaching methods to engage students in a modern learning environment.
  • Academic Advising: Providing academic advising services to students, guiding them through their academic journey and supporting their career development.

3. Research Skills & Scholarly Excellence

  • Research Experience: A strong research record with publications in peer-reviewed journals, especially those indexed in Scopus, ABS, or ABDC. The ability to publish high-quality research outcomes in top-tier business/management journals.
  • Interdisciplinary Research: Experience in collaborative and interdisciplinary research would be a valuable asset, showing the ability to work across disciplines and explore innovative approaches in digital marketing and related fields.
  • Research Mentorship: Demonstrable experience in supervising student projects and dissertations, providing guidance and mentorship to students undertaking research.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Commitment to ongoing professional development, staying updated on trends in digital marketing and emerging business technologies.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage the daily operations of the Financial Aid Office & promotes financial aid availability to students & the community.
  • Update staff & students of eligibility determination process financial aid awards, hear satisfactory academic progress appeals & compile institutional reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for the administration of financial aid policies, requirements & procedures.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates department scholarships/discounts policy.
  • Manages sponsors accounts processing, debt collections, scholarship and grants processing.
  • Ensures compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements in all financial aid & scholarships programs with all agreements and university policies.
  • Services as liaison between all university departments & the financial aid department to coordinate policies guidelines pertaining to financial aid.
  • Monitor scholarship & financial aid accounts to ensure expenditures are within budgeted parameters.
  • Requests & balances all financial aid, scholarship & finance resource balances and review credit balance reports.
  • Prepares information & presents at meetings, discussion groups or workshops for students, parents & staff.
  • Coordinates with outside agencies in developing new financial aid & scholarship information systems.
  • Responsible for finance resource through Receiving, implementation, auditing and collection of debts.
  • Prepare contracts for various financial aid & scholarship services.
  • Audit files & reports to ensure student funds are being processed & released in a timely manner.
  • Assists in the design & responsible of testing, implementation & troubleshoot of all computer systems applications & quality control procedures.

  • The scholarship & financial aid Manager in charge will be responsible for all the procedures of Thamer’s Fund (e.g. Ensures compliance with AU rules & regulations, prepares pieces of information & presents them at meetings, audits files & lists, monitors, etc.)

  • Credit Balance Management: Ability to review credit balance reports, ensuring that any credits are properly allocated and that there are no discrepancies in student accounts.

  • Financial Resource Management: Expertise in managing financial resources by overseeing the receipt, implementation, auditing, and collection of financial aid and scholarships, ensuring efficient and transparent processes.
  • Requesting & Balancing Financial Aid Funds: Responsible for requesting and balancing financial aid funds, ensuring that sufficient resources are available for all eligible students, and maintaining accurate records of balances.

4. Communication & Coordination Skills

  • Liaison with University Departments: Strong ability to coordinate between university departments (e.g., student services, admissions, academic departments) and the financial aid office, ensuring seamless communication about financial aid policies, updates, and changes.
  • Presentation & Public Speaking: Ability to prepare and present information at meetings, workshops, and discussion groups for students, parents, and staff, effectively explaining financial aid processes and policies.
  • Collaboration with External Agencies: Skilled in coordinating with outside agencies to develop and maintain systems for financial aid and scholarship information that meet institutional and external needs.

  • Document Management & Contract Preparation: Ability to prepare contracts for financial aid and scholarship services, ensuring all terms are clearly defined and compliant with university and external guidelines.
  • System Testing & Troubleshooting: Familiarity with the design, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting of financial aid systems, ensuring that all computer applications and quality control procedures function effectively and reliably.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

University Bachelor degree with minimum 4 years of work experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified in the job description, Fluency in English & Arabic (Verbal & Written), proficiency in computers and previous office experience is essential as well as IT skills.
