Job Summary – Emergency Medical Dispatcher (999 Call Receiver)
The Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) is a critical role within the National Ambulance Service, responsible for receiving and managing emergency calls through the 999 hotline. The dispatcher acts as the first point of contact for individuals experiencing medical emergencies and ensures that appropriate ambulance and medical assistance is dispatched promptly.
The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a professional approach in dealing with sensitive situations. Dispatchers must demonstrate both accuracy and speed in gathering essential details from callers and transferring the information to field teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer emergency 999 calls in a professional and timely manner.
