Data Entry
The Data Entry Clerk plays a vital role in maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and useable information within company databases and systems. The primary responsibility is to input, verify, and manage various forms of data—such as client information, financial records, inventory logs, or attendance sheets—while ensuring precision, consistency, and confidentiality.
This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong typing and computer skills, and a disciplined approach to working with repetitive tasks and sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter data from paper documents, digital forms, spreadsheets, or other sources into databases and software systems
- Review data for errors or inconsistencies and correct any deficiencies
- Maintain and update existing data entries as needed
- Verify accuracy of information before finalizing entries
- Organize and maintain digital and physical filing systems
- Generate basic reports from database systems when requested
- Communicate with internal departments to obtain missing information or clarify discrepancies
- Ensure confidentiality and security of all data handled
- Meet daily and weekly productivity targets and quality standards
- Assist with other clerical and administrative tasks as required
Desired Skills & Competencies:
- Fast and accurate typing skills (minimum 40–60 WPM preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word) and database software
- Familiarity with data entry tools, CRM systems, or ERP platforms is a plus
- Ability to follow procedures and adapt to data handling protocols
- Good communication skills to clarify and confirm data as needed
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or vocational certification is a plus
- 1–2 years of experience in a data entry, administrative, or clerical support role preferred
- Experience in industries such as healthcare, retail, finance, or logistics is an advantage
