We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Environmental Laboratory Specialist to perform comprehensive field sampling and laboratory analysis. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in environmental sampling, chemical testing, and the maintenance of laboratory instruments while ensuring compliance with industry and environmental standards
Job Description
- Conduct field sampling for various environments, including groundwater, wastewater, seawater, soil, source emissions, fugitive emissions, ambient air, and indoor air quality.
- Adhere to environmental and safety regulations during all field operations
- Identify and assess the presence of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs).
- Evaluate the condition of ACMs and determine associated risks.
- Operate laboratory instruments such as spectrophotometers, chromatographs, and titration equipment to analyze chemical properties and compositions.
- Develop nonstandard chemical tests to address specific project needs.
- Conduct physical and chemical tests, measuring properties such as pH, density, viscosity, and solubility.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with lab equipment to minimize downtime.
- Accurately record and document experimental results, ensuring consistency and compliance with quality standards.
- Analyze data, interpret chemical test results, and draw informed conclusions.
- Prepare detailed reports of findings, including statistical analyses and actionable recommendations.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s/ master’s degree in chemistry (master’s degree will be given preference)
- 5 to 8 years of experience in Environmental Monitoring & Laboratory Testing.
- Received training in asbestos management surveying (BOHS recognized Training Provider) or preference will be given to a candidate having BOHS P-402 Certificate.
