Job Description
The candidate must be able to:

  • Answer telephone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
  • Take record and confirm restaurant reservations / cancellations in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Communicate reservation /cancellation changes to management as they arise throughout the shift.
  • Monitor the preparation of own assignments, ensuring compliance to departmental standards.
  • Ensure that all menu’s, check folders are cleaned and in sufficient quantity.
  • Ensure that the hostess stand is cleaned and organized.
  • Review Reservation book, pre-assign designated tables and follow up on all special requests.
  • Greet the guests at the entrance of the restaurant.
  • Seat Guest accordingly to floor plan / being fair to each waiter.
  • Show guests their table which has been designated to them.
  • Ensure that the guests are pleased with their table.
  • Present the open menu to the guest.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Be familiar with hotel services / activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.

Skills :

  • Answer telephone promptly: Answer the telephone within 3 rings, using the correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
  • Handle restaurant reservations: Take, record, and confirm restaurant reservations and cancellations in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Communicate changes in reservations: Communicate reservation or cancellation changes to management as they arise throughout the shift.
  • Monitor assignments: Monitor the preparation of your own assignments to ensure compliance with departmental standards.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sufficient quantity of materials: Ensure that all menus and check folders are cleaned and available in sufficient quantity.
  • Maintain hostess stand: Ensure that the hostess stand is kept clean and organized.
  • Review reservation book: Review the reservation book, pre-assign designated tables, and follow up on all special requests.
  • Greet and seat guests: Greet guests at the entrance of the restaurant and seat them according to the floor plan, ensuring fairness to each waiter.
  • Escort guests to their table: Show guests to their designated table and ensure they are satisfied with their seating.
  • Present the menu: Present the open menu to the guest.
  • Maintain positive guest relations: Maintain positive relations with guests at all times.
  • Be knowledgeable about hotel services: Be familiar with hotel services and activities to accurately respond to guest inquiries.

Qualifications

Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently.

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Being fluent in English and any additional language is an advantage.

Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in Food & Beverage/Restaurant operation preferably in a similar quality hotel

A friendly, outgoing behavior, able to involve and support operation

WAITER/WAITRESS

Job Description

  • To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items in the menu and the ability to recommend Food & Beverage combinations and up sell alternatives.
  • To provide high standard of quality and efficient / friendly service as per Standard Operational Procedures.
  • To ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.
  • To handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • To provide a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times, following Rixos Standards of Performance.
  • To be entirely flexible and adapt to rotate within the different sub departments of the Food & Beverage Division or any other Department of the hotel as assigned.

Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage items: Understand and have detailed knowledge of all food and beverage items on the menu, and be able to recommend Food & Beverage combinations and upsell alternatives.
  • Provide high standard of service: Deliver high-quality, efficient, and friendly service according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization: Ensure that the work area and surrounding spaces are kept clean and organized at all times.
  • Handle guest enquiries: Respond to guest inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Provide courteous, professional, and flexible service: Always provide courteous, professional, efficient, and flexible service, following the Rixos Standards of Performance.
  • Adaptability and flexibility: Be entirely flexible and adaptable, rotating within different sub-departments of the Food & Beverage Division or any other department of the hotel as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in vocational hospitality,
  • fresher or 1 year experience in 4-5-star hotel.
