Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Student Counselor at Busla Education and Training Services. The Student Counselor will be responsible for providing student counseling, career counseling, communication, and customer service support on a daily basis in the office, online and when visiting schools.

Qualifications

  • Student Counseling and Career Counseling skills
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities
  • Background or education in the field of Education
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in university admissions or career development is a big plus
  • Experience with high schools in Qatar
  • Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education, Psychology, or related field (not mandatory).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Counseling Services:
    • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students’ academic and personal concerns.
    • Provide emotional support and guidance for students facing challenges such as stress, anxiety, and interpersonal issues.
  2. Academic Advising:
    • Assist students in understanding their academic programs, course selection, and graduation requirements.
    • Help students develop effective study habits and time management skills.
  3. Career Guidance:
    • Provide resources and advice on career exploration, college applications, and vocational training opportunities.
    • Conduct workshops and seminars on resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
  4. Crisis Intervention:
    • Respond to emergencies and crises, providing immediate support and referrals to appropriate resources.
    • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure the well-being of students in crisis.
  5. Resource Coordination:
    • Connect students with academic, mental health, and community resources.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of available services and programs to assist students effectively.
  6. Workshops and Programs:
    • Organize and facilitate workshops on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, and life skills development.
    • Promote programs that enhance student well-being and academic success.
  7. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, interventions, and student progress.
    • Prepare reports for school administration and contribute to program evaluation efforts.
  8. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to support students’ needs.
    • Participate in school committees and contribute to the development of school policies related to student welfare.
