Job Title: Safety Training and Development Specialist

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to develop, implement, and evaluate organization-wide safety training and development programs at HMC to strengthen safety culture, reduce risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The specialist will collaborate with various departments to assess needs, design training curricula, deliver courses, and monitor staff competency and certification.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and coordinate safety training programs aligned with HMC’s goals and workforce needs.
  • Conduct training needs assessments through surveys, interviews, and data analysis.
  • Develop and review safety training materials, modules, and learning resources.
  • Deliver safety training sessions (e.g., fire safety, hazardous materials, radiation safety) including demonstrations and practical exercises.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and implement continuous improvements.
  • Coordinate training schedules, attendance tracking, and re-certification processes.
  • Provide induction safety training for new hires and refresher courses for current staff.
  • Liaise with external institutions for relevant safety courses and recommend staff participation.
  • Ensure compliance with HMC policies, infection control, safety, and quality standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in safety, including at least 2 years in delivering safety-related training.
  • Certifications: In education or in a specialized safety field (fire safety, hazardous materials, radiation).
  • Language: English (essential – spoken & written), Arabic (preferred).
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office.
