Logistics Assistant, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the provision of an effective and efficient transport services to all mission activities in line with IOM standard procedures, rules, and regulation in IOM Doha, Qatar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Drive\u00a0assigned\u00a0IOM\u00a0office\u00a0vehicle(s).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle(s) to ensure roadworthiness of the vehicles.\u00a0This includes daily check of tires, brakes, engine oil, fan belt, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arrange\u00a0for\u00a0minor\u00a0repairs\u00a0and\u00a0ensure\u00a0that\u00a0the\u00a0vehicles\u00a0are\u00a0kept\u00a0clean.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure\u00a0that\u00a0the\u00a0vehicles\u00a0undertake\u00a0regular\u00a0service\u00a0intervals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep\u00a0records\u00a0of\u00a0spare\u00a0parts\u00a0for\u00a0vehicle(s)\u00a0and\u00a0conduct\u00a0monthly\u00a0inventory\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0spare parts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find\u00a0the\u00a0most direct\u00a0and\u00a0safe\u00a0route\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0best available\u00a0roads\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0destination.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure\u00a0that\u00a0the\u00a0IOM\u00a0vehicle(s)\u00a0is\u00a0used\u00a0only\u00a0for\u00a0official\/authorized\u00a0business,\u00a0as\u00a0advised by the supervisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure that the daily log sheet is prepared, and a monthly report is prepared summarizing statistics linked to mileage, fuel consumption, etc. for the vehicle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep a high degree of confidentiality and discreteness in discussions, which involves IOM\u00a0and\u00a0its\u00a0officials.\u00a0Take\u00a0proper\u00a0actions\u00a0to\u00a0reduce\u00a0potential\u00a0security\u00a0threats\u00a0to\u00a0IOM officials and\/or property within the immediate vicinity of the vehicle and along transport routes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet official personnel at the airport(s) and facilitate travel re-equipments when required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collect\u00a0and\u00a0deliver\u00a0mail,\u00a0documents,\u00a0pouches,\u00a0and\u00a0other\u00a0communications\/items\u00a0from and to the country office; go to the post office, airport, government agencies, other UN agencies, institutions, project sites, etc., to take and deliver items and communications; keep records as required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When needed, assist the IOM office staff in performing simple tasks duties such as making photocopies of vehicle log sheets, keeping records of rental vehicles, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure\u00a0that\u00a0the\u00a0IOM\u00a0vehicle(s)\u00a0are\u00a0properly\u00a0cleaned\u00a0and\u00a0maintained\u00a0all\u00a0the time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit\u00a0monthly\u00a0log sheet\u00a0of\u00a0vehicles to logistic\u00a0unit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform\u00a0such\u00a0other duties\u00a0as\u00a0may\u00a0be\u00a0assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Education<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>High\u00a0school\u00a0degree\/certificate\u00a0with\u00a0minimum 2\u00a0years\u00a0of\u00a0relevant\u00a0working\u00a0experience or Bachelor\u2019s Degree from an accredited institution.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Valid\u00a0Qatar\u00a0national\u00a0driver\u2019s\u00a0license.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Accredited Universities are those listed in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/whed.net\/home.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UNESCO World Higher Education Database<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experience<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Knowledge of Qatar traffic laws, driving rules and regulations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles (LTV\u2019s).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of radio, email, telephone, and other applications.<br>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Skills<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Excellent\u00a0problem-solving\u00a0skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good\u00a0communication\u00a0skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Skills\u00a0in\u00a0minor\u00a0vehicle\u00a0repairs,\u00a0familiarity\u00a0with\u00a0vehicle\u00a0maintenance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Great\u00a0professional\u00a0driving\u00a0skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Capability\u00a0to\u00a0work\u00a0under\u00a0high\u00a0pressure,\u00a0good\u00a0concentration\u00a0skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Time\u00a0management\u00a0skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability\u00a0to\u00a0work\u00a0along effectively<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physical\u00a0strength\u00a0and\u00a0stamina\u00a0and\u00a0good health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Languages<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For all applicants, fluency in English is required (oral and written).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>IOM\u2019s official languages are English, French and Spanish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and\/or oral assessments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Required Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IOM\u2019s competency framework can be found at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iom.int\/sites\/g\/files\/tmzbdl486\/files\/about-iom\/Competency_Framework-EN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this link<\/a>.
