Technologist<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Job Description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>&nbsp;Key Accountabilities &amp; Activities:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Responsible for the day-to-day operations in the Microbiology laboratory.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Performs a variety of microbiological procedures to cultivate, isolate, enumerate and identify microorganisms in clinical specimens.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conducts routine and specialized microbiological procedures, including bacteriological, mycological, and parasitological.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform tests on body fluids such as blood, urine, synovial fluid etc&#8230;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to perform the sensitivity and resistance of specific pathogens to a wide range of antimicrobial agents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Records, analyze and interpret microbiological results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Performs and documents daily, weekly, and monthly Quality Control.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Operates, cleans, and maintains laboratory equipment used in microbiological procedures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communicates laboratory test results to physicians and Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) team.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Makes effort to conduct\/participate in scientific research in the field of medical microbiology and\/or infectious diseases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provides education and training in the field of medical microbiology and infectious diseases to colleagues, healthcare workers and employees working both within and outside the institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Necessary knowledge and Experience to be able to do the job:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Minimum 3 to 5 years of related experience of which a minimum of 1 year should be in a similar position\/responsibility, preferably in a similar industry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trained and experienced in the use, maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment and analysers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work shifts and demonstrable willingness to be placed on a 24-hour on-call roster if required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Education and Certification requirements:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in medical laboratory science\/technology or any other related field.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fulfil all licensing requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technical Skills<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Laboratory Proficiency:<\/strong> Expertise in performing laboratory tests and procedures, including hematology, microbiology, immunology, and clinical chemistry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Instrumentation Skills:<\/strong> Knowledge of operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Quality Control:<\/strong> Understanding of quality assurance practices and protocols to ensure accurate results.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Analytical Skills<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Attention to Detail:<\/strong> Strong focus on precision and accuracy in testing and reporting
